Share License Keys Securely
Deliver software license keys through encrypted links that expire after the recipient activates them.
The problem
License keys sent via email sit in inboxes where they can be forwarded, searched, or stolen in a breach. Plaintext keys in support tickets or chat logs can be reused or pirated. Once a license key leaks, controlling distribution becomes nearly impossible.
How Vaulted helps
Vaulted encrypts the license key in your browser with AES-256-GCM and generates a link that self-destructs after a set number of views. The recipient can copy the key and activate their software, but the link disappears afterward — preventing unauthorized redistribution.
How to do it
- Paste the license key into Vaulted
- Set a view limit matching the number of intended recipients
- Send the encrypted link to your customer or team member
- They copy the key for activation, and the link expires automatically
