Share SSL/TLS Certificates Securely

Transmit SSL/TLS certificate private keys and PEM files through encrypted, self-destructing links.

The problem

SSL/TLS certificate private keys emailed between team members or stored in shared drives create serious vulnerabilities. A stolen certificate key enables man-in-the-middle attacks, domain impersonation, and interception of all encrypted traffic to your domain.

How Vaulted helps

Vaulted encrypts certificate material in your browser using AES-256-GCM before generating a shareable link. The link auto-expires after a set number of views, and the encryption key lives solely in the URL fragment. Your certificate private key never passes through any server in readable form.

How to do it

  1. Paste your certificate private key or PEM content into Vaulted
  2. Set a tight view limit and short expiration
  3. Share the encrypted link with the engineer deploying the certificate
  4. They download the key material, and the link is permanently expired
